Without an understanding of CSS editing and the Custom Design upgrade, you can't. What you can do, for free, is change themes to a theme that does this.

Thanks a lot raincoaster... one more question....

I managed to show the social icons after every post but not in the header. in the support site they haven't mentioned the thing. also i want to add the site link to the site logo. Where to add the link?

There will never be a theme editor or plugin section on a WordPress.COM blog, as those are for WordPress.ORG blogs. You'd better stop reading the instructions you're reading and start referencing http://support.wordpress.com

Add social media buttons at Dashboard->Settings->Sharing.

Hi,

The blog is created using the BOLD LIFE theme.
I want to add the social media buttons on the home page and in the header. in admin there is no theme editor and plugin section. How to solve the problem please help me..
