They will have to sign up again to receive email notifications, as catezapp mentioned.

I then later made it private so I could share personal content.
All my invited users switched from 'followers' to 'viewers'. But they only appear in a list where it says 'invite new users' and in the Followers list in stats. They are not receiving email updates for new posts.
Is there anyway of changing settings so these people will now receive email updates without asking them to sign up again?
