I'm afraid to say that as far as I'm aware, they are not saved anywhere. At least, the autosave never kicks in. If it is not on your Dashboard posts page under Drafts, it may be gone for good. This behavior is associated with the New Post button on the Admin bar as well as the New Post button on the new "central" WP.com page. The only thing that ALWAYS works is the Dashboard->Posts->New Post page or an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer.

I'm new at this. After spending some time writing my first post this morning using the "home page quick post form," I saved my work without publishing it, and logged out. When I came back to finish the post tonight, I couldn't find the saved draft anywhere. It's not in the "recent drafts" section of my dashboard. Any ideas?
