I'm new at this and not computer savvy at all. I tried reducing the screen resolution size, it works for every other page besides my Dashboard/blog page. This is so frustrating, I'm considering throwing in the towel! Is there anything else I can try before I go this route?

So, as long as your browser window is at least 850px wide, you'll still see both columns. If you decrease the width below 850px, the layout will switch to single column to better accommodate the editor.
