body {padding-bottom: 300px;}
.content #content,
#main .full-width .post-entry,
.post-content {
	padding-bottom: 0;
	margin-bottom: 0;
}

Here are some things that may help you in understanding how some of this CSS stuff works:

1. When working on CSS, add at least a few test posts and pages with dummy text and photos so you can see how your CSS affects all different types of pages.

1. Keep in mind that different users have different monitor sizes and resolutions and different browser window heights. Try viewing the site from different computers if you get the chance or use a tool like http://www.browserstack.com/ It will help to show you how different views of the same site can vary from different computers and devices.

One is about the Contact page and is a different issue than that of the front page white space. I am sure both are not the same solution.
