I don't know if that can be done or not. If you want to suggest it then start a thread in the Ideas Forum.

(4) the blogger edits the text widget directly, consolidates some items and overlooks a tag that needs to be removed as a result.

It would be nice to have a validation feature built into text widgets.

Hi there,
It's good to know that you searched and resolved your issue.

Sidebars do not fall to the bottom and display below posts unless
(1) content has been imported into the blog,
(2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
(3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget.

See here for sorting this out > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

Problem solved, thanks to another poster with the same issue. It turned out to be an extra "/div" in a text widget I had recently modified. For some reason the malformed HTML messes up widget location.

The usually suggested solution is to turn on the "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically" option in Settings-->Writing, then go back and update all your recent posts. I did that and nothing happened (but it may work for you, if your problem is in a post). This option does not check text widgets - you need to do that by hand.

My site is using the Coraline theme, set up so that the widget areas run down the right side - featured on top, followed by primary and secondary. This has worked fine for over a year. Recently the primary widget area has moved from just under the featured widgets - it now displays at the bottom of my page, like a footer widget area. I do not want this. How can I get the primary widget area back where I want it?
