Hi there - thanks so much for the screenshots. Those are definitely not placed there by WordPress.com, and they aren't being seen by the public - it's something specific to your browser and computer.

http://kidlitreviews.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/screenshot_1.png

In addition to turning off all Chrome extensions, I encourage you to have a look at timethief's tips, which justjennifer linked to below. It outlines some things you can try to make sure the advertising gets permanently removed.

Here's another resource you might want to read:

Good luck!

I had done it, but it apparently it didn't help. I did it again and now it seems the ads are gone --for now.

I have been having a lot of trouble with my computer lately and am going to be doing a restore to the day I purchased the unit. Maybe the laptop has been part of the problem. I guess I will see.

I will certainly will be watching very closely when I download anything for those sneaky add ons the blog post you sent me to mentioned.

Thanks for everything. I do appreciate your tie.

Did you turn off all the browser extensions as kathrynwp suggested above? This is sounding more and more like either you have malware or a malicious browser extension on your computer. Please see this post by timethief, another forum volunteer:

Isn't that the way things work. You would like to see what I see and now I do not see what I saw. Rats! I will keep this link. I have been seeing them as late as earlier today when posting a new review. But now--none.

Please keep an eye out. I will use the link when I see one. Unless the ads were scared off by my request for help. :)

I'm not seeing any ads on your site, either.

Sometimes malicious browser extensions inject ads on a site. Could you please try turning off all browser extensions and add-ons temporarily to see if that solves the issue? If it does, you can then reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

If you post a screenshot in your Media Library I can also have a look.

FWIW-I don't see any WordAds on your site, neither in your posts nor in your site's sidebar.

Can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing and post it to your media library so that Staff can take a look? http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

How do I get Word Ads to stay off my site? I changed them to no show to anyone but they still show up on my site and in my previews when posting. How can I get rid of these.

You must earn $100 before a payout can be made. In three months I have made 94 cents. Not worth the time or trouble.

I have already paid for a domain and for custom changes I do not want these ads on my site. I wish I ha never allowed them.
