You will need to buy a domain name and find independent hosting.

It's a pretty smooth transition, but afterwards you're responsible for all your own security, upgrades, etc.

Set up your external site, then go to your blog here and under Tools choose Export. Then on your new blog, go to Tools, Import. Simple.

I found some great themes on the wordpress shower site and would like to use them. How can one switch from the .com to the .org?

Can i keep my domain name with the .com at the end?
Is it a smooth transition? Reformation images and other small details?

I really enjoy my account but I would like the freedom of more options with user friendly interface. I am not a programmer, Any help would be great.
