The internet connection is always stable. That name doug1 worried me, so glad to know that is normal, i thought i'd been hacked. Are you able to create, edit, and publish posts?

Everything you are seeing is normal - those addresses you see loading are things we use internally, so there isn't any reason to worry about that.

Is your internet connection stable?

(I would also suggest that you want to keep using Firefox, to update to the latest stable version - 15.)

(1) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

(2) Are you using the secure https:// login?

(3) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you aren’t sure click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

g. Resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer

If i am on my Dashboard, at the bottom of the page it says 'transfering data from log3.optimizely.com but it never does, it just sits there, and when i try to edit a post, at the bottom of the page it says 'connecting to doug1izaerwt3.cluodfront.net'. Is this normal? Why is it trying to connect to doug1izaerwt3 in my edit post? Who or what is doug1izaerwt3? Thanks
