   Is it possible to have only one category of my posts show up as the front page of my blog?

   You would need to set that category page as a "static" front page.

   Thanks. That page shows how to set a static page as a front page, but it doesn't show how to make a category into a static page. Categories and static pages seem to be two different things. Can you explain?

   Use the link to the category page you want as your front page, such as: http://shalynste.wordpress.com/category/diary/
