A couple question for WordPress Value Bundle customers

  1. Hi all.

I've been managing a few installations of WP for years now but have been finding that my free time could be better spent doing other things and that hosting sites with share hosting sometimes provide very slow load times due to heavy CPU loads. This has me considering a switch to WP.com though I have a few thoughts holding me back.

What approved plugins are available to WordPress Value Bundle customers?

Do you miss managing your own installation of WP? What would you say to someone considering a switch?

Thanks for your suggestions and feedback.

The blog I need help with is garyploski.com.

  2. What approved plugins are available to WordPress Value Bundle customers?

None. There is no upgrade yopur can purchase that provides FTP access and allows blogger installation of plugins into free hosted wordpress.com blogs. Please read this comparison > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  3. 1) none. Plugins cannot be used here.

    2) hell to the no! I'm no coder, and no designer. I like turnkey solutions with great SEO and that's WordPress.com.

  4. See here also > bundles > http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/

  5. Thanks for the reply though I'm not asking about uploading plugins. I'm curious about which plugins are available (if any).

  6. Do you miss managing your own installation of WP?

Echoing raincoaster, I also say ... hell no!

  7. The reason I ask is because of this approved list of plugins for VIP customers. http://vip.wordpress.com/plugins/

  8. Thanks for the reply though I'm not asking about uploading plugins. I'm curious about which plugins are available (if any).

Staff universally install plugins across the whole platform. There is no blogger plugin picky choosy here at all.

  9. The turnkey solution is drawing me toward WP.com.

  10. What applies to VIP hosting does not apply to us. here. Are you in the VIP league? http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/

  11. Staff universally install plugins across the whole platform.

That's what I thought but I can't find any info on what is available when searching with the keyword 'plugin.'

  12. Are you in the Enterprise league? http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/12/13/introducing-wordpress-com-enterprise/

Id you aren't the n we are back to the limitations and restrictions revealed here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  13. Are you in the VIP league?

I'm laughing to myself. I'm nowhere near it. The recent 'Enterprise' announcement rekindled my interest in WP.com hosting and I found that list while reading up on the different features.

  14. It's not about "availaibility" as we cannot vary what exists such as Akismet and everything that's in JetPack, la, la , la. If you need a list then email support [at] wordpress [dot] com

  15. If anyone is interested in reading more about the Enterprise announcement: http://vip.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/enterprise/

  16. We have read it and we aren't in that league. VIP clients have their own support forums. Click on over to the Enterprise announcement to get information about a free trial because we can't help you here with anything to do with it.

  17. Click on over to the Enterprise announcement to get information about a free trial because we can't help you here with anything to do with it.

Thanks again but I'm not looking for support or information on the Enterprise. I posted it for anyone interested in reading more about the announcement.

I wrote to support to ask for more details because it seems strange that WP.com offers certain plugins but there is no easily available list to read through.

  18. If you need a list of the plugins being used on the free hosted blogging platform then email support [at] wordpress [dot] com

  19. If you need a list of the plugins being used on the free hosted blogging platform then email support

I replied saying that I did just that moments ago. =)

  20. Oops! I didn't read closely enough. I'm sorry. Now I see you have already emailed Staff, I'll tag this thread for closure as these are strictly support forums and there are no discussion forums here.

  21. Hi, I'll go ahead and close this thread, but I would like to let you know that while WordPress.com doesn't support third-party plugins, we do have many widgets available that may fit your needs:

    Cheers!
