A funny thing happened on the way to Reddit

    So I posted what was meant to be a nice tribute to elderly woman/mothers, in the form of a stupid anti-joke type thing.

    Nobody paid much attention to it, and I got just over 100 views.

    I thought, oh well, better I post what I like, and not what I thing others will like.

    Then today, someone links it to Reddit, and it's getting views like hot-cakes. Meanwhile, the post I put up today is roundly ignored, when I thought people might find it fun and get more hits.

    Funny old world we live in.

    The blog I need help with is theuglymoose.wordpress.com.

    Reddit is whimsical but if you have a redditor as a regular reader and you keep posting awesome stuff, you'll do well over time. Same as Stumble. Titles also matter; not yours so much as the title the redditor gives it. You can have an awesome title and awesome comment, but if the redditor titles his reddit post "post number 2903i89e4" you're screwed.

    That's awesome that someone is submit your links to Reddit. Since it's frowned upon to submit your own links, you should be honored.

    I was very cool. so hopefully they'll stick around! No bump today though :(

    By they way, to prettierinpink, yes I switched off comments ages ago, and only set comments on the about page. I think it was because I was afraid of mean comments hurting my precious feelings, or I don't know what. I should switch them back on. Thanks for reminding me,

    In life, in order to improve yourself, you have to take in comments, good or bad.

    Bah, alright then. One problem. I can't find where to switch comments back on for my home page, posts, or a specific page now.

    sorry, I found where to switch comments on. I guess this will apply to all future posts, which is a shame.

    By default all WordPress blogs have comments enabled on all posts and on all pages. If your were disabled then you did that and you can reverse it but you are correct changing the settings applies to "future" comments.

    This page > Settings > Discussion
    Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

    We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page.
