A poll on your blog!!

  1. I Hope to have one day a Poll on my blog.
So that users can Vote :)

  2. While you are waiting you can get one from lucky polls http://luckypolls.com/

  3. Thanks for that timethief.. I'd also looked for one before and hadn't found one I was happy with (or displayed properly on WP).

    I'll check it out too.

  4. For the free blogs too?

  5. Can i add it in my sidebar in a Tekst-widget?

  6. / nod to fracas
    universalgeni - Yes
nederhop074 - please click the link and see for yourself

  7. Universal Genius says thank you...

  8. I bow and smile :)

  9. Thanx Timethief, but it´s not what i need.

  10. @nederhop: something like luckypolls is the only thing that works at wordpress.com

  11. its to bad...

but thnx for your help :)

  12. I'm sorry that it wasn't what you were looking for. Your best bet is to find a poll you like on the internet and provide a link for it when you send a feedback request to staff. It's also a good idea to include the reasons that you want this feature to be introduced.

  13. Thanks, TT, for the link to LuckyPolls. I've just put one on my WordPress.com blog in order to: (1) check it out; (2) provide an example for others; (3) take a poll on an issue that sometimes comes up in this forum.
    Here's the link:
    http://changingway.org/2007/05/22/poll-what-to-call-wordpress/
It looks very clunky compared with a poll set up using the WP-Polls plugin. We don't have access to plugins at WP.com, unless we can persuade staff to make a given plugin part of WP.com. Here is an example of such a poll:
    http://www.last100.com/2007/05/20/poll-can-skype-replace-your-landline/

  14. The poll is closed, with the verdict of those few who bothered to vote being that WordPress should be called WordPress. More at:

  15. We're all busy playing that towers game...

  16. Hi,

I just want to sum this up. So for the software provided by wordpress.org there is a neat poll function. But for the "normal" wordpress.com users there isn't?

    I find this very confusing...

  17. Actually the "normal" version of wordpress is the one found at wp.org. When you see "wordpress" somewhere, 99% of the time it's the wp.org version.

Check out the Please read me first sticky for more details and see if that helps.

  18. @ philipslearningcurve
Yes, that's the case. We do not have a poll feature at wordpress.com. Some wp.com bloggers use a third party poll from luckypolls http://luckypolls.com/

  19. i tried using luckypolls.com but it didnt turn out rite...I couldnt click on the choices to vote... I could only click on 'view results'... can someone pls advice me wat went wrong? Thks alotz.

  20. can you give us a link to your blog?

  21. There is no elegant way to have a dynamic poll widget on worpress.com blogs. This is as close as we can come - Example of nexodyne polls that show updating numbers on your blog.

All of these polls are available for our use via a link back to the 3rd party site:
    Freepolls from Nexodyne
    htmlpoll
    LuckyPolls
    Misterpoll
    Opinionpower
    Pollcode
    PollDaddy
    pollgenius
    Quibblo
    Quimble
    Snappoll
    Vizu

  22. go to luckypolls.com for polls

  23. @fang577
If you look, you will see that timethief listed luckpolls in the post right above yours, along with many more that work here at wordpress.com.
