A question about Omnisearch results

  1. Can someone enlighten me as to why "Comics" appears in my search results, along with Posts, Pages, Comments? (Screenshot in my Media Library, if needed.)

FWIW-shouldn't Media be included in search results?

    Thanks for looking.

The blog I need help with is justjennifer.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,
Check out the Google search results
    comics site:justjennifer.wordpress.com

  3. Sorry, tt. Not clear to me despite the Google search results. Thanks anyway.

Still waiting for a Staff reply as to why Comics would be on the same level as Posts, Pages and Comments and why Media is not included in the search.

  4. Hi again,
    Check a little closer.

Wry? I would say his humor is more arid and can only support the nerdiest of vegetation within its climate.
Still, I’ve found my geeky self smirking at a few of his comics.http://justjennifer.wordpress.com/2010/11/07/i%E2%80%99m-cleaning-my-oven%E2%80%A6-while-i-sleep/#comment-1269

And not having a thing to do with the above two sites, but too good not to post a link, Idan over at Pixane has been churning out some fabulous topic comics this week. http://justjennifer.wordpress.com/2007/03/15/hot-flash/

Comics is a keyword included in the body text a comment made one post and in of one post and in the body text of another post. I think that is as it should be, don't you?

As for why Media is not included I don't have an answer either.

I can simply say I'm glad that it isn't included as for my purposes it would be something I would want to filter out of my search results.

    @Staff
If Media are included in future iterations of omnisearch, then please provided a filter we can exempt all media results please.

tt, Comics was not a keyword search return; it was a category at the same level and with a heading like:
    Posts
    Pages
    Comments

Here's a screenshot of what I saw when I posted my question yesterday. Regardless, as of this moment, Comics has disappeared from the Omnisearch page.

As always, I do appreciate your input.

Still would like for a staff reply regarding Media.

  7. @ justjennifer - Thanks for reporting seeing the Comics category in the Omnisearch. This was a bug in the Omnisearch that, as you have seen, is now fixed.

Our developers are currently working on adding Media to the Omnisearch, so please stay tuned for that feature to be released. :)

  8. Thanks for the update!

  9. @rachelmcr - Apparently not so much a bug as a feature! :)

  10. @ justjennifer, yes, it is — I didn't want to spoil the surprise! :) Although you were seeing a bug in the Omnisearch. You should only see the Comics category in Omnisearch if you have Comic posts.

    Enjoy! :)
