hi there,
it would be cool if we had the option in the sidebar for people to be on a sort of email newsletter, so they can get updates via email...or something along these lines...

I'm sure I've seen it stated (though I can't find the link right now) that e-mail notification of posts is too hard on the servers to be seriously considered as an option. By all means request it through feedback, though. The worst they can do is take no notice ;)
