a way to restore default theme menu

  1. hi,
Is there a way to restore theme's default menu after you have re-set it to a custom one? I have done just that and realised that, as a result, navigation on my site is now a bit awkward. The problem lays in my home page (which is my post page) not showing as a 'tab' in the top right corner. Consequently, if someone navigates away from it (eg. cliks to 'about' or 'contact') they'd have to go back to post(main) page using browser's 'go back' arrow, or hover over blog's title, which is not very intuitive. What I'd ideally like to have is 'home' alongsie 'about' and 'contact' page tabs to make it easy to navigate back to main page.
I'm sure my original menu setting had 'home' tab, the problem is that I have set a custom menu and don't know how to restore the default one or add a 'home' tab.
I have tried to make a static page to be my main page (this way I'd be able to control it and call it 'home' via custom menu) but a static main page cannot be a post page at the same time, so this option goes down the drain...

Any suggestions on how I can get out of this conundrum?
    thanks.

ps. the theme I'm using is hatch.

The blog I need help with is gosiasdrawer.wordpress.com.

  2. 1. There is no reset button.
    2. Click the blog title on any page and one is returned to the home page.
    3. There is a Home link (custom link) ready for you to use when you create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

  3. To revert:
Select the blank option from the Theme Locations pulldown, click Save.

Or to add your home page, use this link on your custom menu:

  4. now that's frustrating: it seems someone has posted an answer for me (they seem to have added new tags for this very query) but I can't see their post. ;(
Checked spam in comments in my blog's dashboard, but there's nothing there...
    :(

  5. I have tried to make a static page to be my main page (this way I'd be able to control it and call it 'home' via custom menu) but a static main page cannot be a post page at the same time,

OKay I was assuming the link to your blog's post page, but if you make that a static front page, you can call it whatever you want. Then use the link to the page with your posts on it. Call it "blog" or something like that.

  6. oh, thanks 1tess, I'll try that!

  7. To both:
Sorry timethief, I didn't notice until after I posted my answers: you have been fished out of spam now.

    @gosiaczekm
The spam for the forums is visible to staff and moderators; it won't appear on your own blog's dashboard.

yup, I figured as much, but the only thing I could see was a tag along the lines of "TT's comment sent to spam", I didn't think I could find it in my spam but didn't know what else to do to see the comment so I gave it a go :)

anways, thanks for help guys, I've managed to fix my menu! X

  9. For some unknown reason some regular volunteers get spammed, so staff or mods have to fish them out again.

    Glad your menu is fixed!
