About hits and images hosted by WordPress.com

  1. I have a situation that has happened before and is happening lately that I have not sought an answer till now. Take for instance the following post:

    http://shimworld.wordpress.com/2008/10/17/butterfly-lovers-wu-chun-big-screen-debut/

Major celebrity in the Taiwanese POP culture so understandably pictures like these get downloaded and rehosted across all their fan sites. The question I have involves images that are stored on wordpress.com servers. When someone links to the one or more of the images there such as

    http://shimworld.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/butterfly-lovers-bookmark.jpg

would that count as one hit or page view each time someone clicks on that page? Coz, despite clearly stating conditions in which the images can be linked, these fans who are often clueless about the IP crimes there commit continue to rehost them on their forums thinking and I lose traffic. So, IP matters aside, I would like to know if it makes any difference to my traffic whether or not an image is hotlinked or otherwise before I attempt to contact the parties involved?
