About Me information using "AboutMe" widget or not

  1. I would like to include a section about me/the blog on my sidebar for a brief introduction and include an image of myself. What I'm finding with the "about me" widget is that 1) the image displayed is the wallpaper of the "about me" page and 2) I can't include a brief summary that is clickable for more information so that I have at least a brief introduction on the front page of the blog. So I tried to add a bio text and an image to my sidebar using the text and image widgets. I'd like to condense the text though and include a link for more information so it's not so long on the front page. Is that possible?

The blog I need help with is therealdealmarin.com.

  2. It looks like you've worked around the length limitation with a Text widget.

The user of the background image is just how About Me designed it.

You might want to try a Gravatar widget instead. I think it's more like what you're looking for.

You can build your Gravatar profile at http://en.gravatar.com/ just log in with your WordPress.com account.

  3. Thanks. What if I don't want to have a profile page with About Me or Gravatar but just some simple text with a link so that it isn't too long on the front page. I'd also like to be able to link to my business in this text. Is there a way I can do that with the text widget?

  4. Oh, if you just want text with no About.Me or Gravatar account, just use a Text widget as you already have.

Text widgets use HTML, so add a link like this:

    [Title]
