About page as Home page

  1. Hi!
I would like to know if is it possible to do that the About page is my Home page, I mean, I would like that people connecting to my blog find the About page first that any other.
    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is mechannel.wordpress.com.

  2. Yes you can make your About page a static front page. Pages are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog. There is only one main page for posts in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.

The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page "About" for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

If you choose Choice 1 (static front page) then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

  3. Thanks for your reply!
And how do I do that?

  4. I mean: I want that the index page is the about page.

  5. I gave you instructions. Click the links in my comment above and do what I described.

  6. YES! I did it!! Thank you :))

  7. Sorry, another question.
Now that I made the change I wanted, the Recent Posts are not visible any more, only Categories, Archives and Blogroll are visible on the side.
How can I do Recent Posts visible?
    Thanks.
