Academia Banner

  1. I'm trying to upload a banner image on the Academia theme. When I researched how to do it, I found that I need to enable a "Featured Image Slider". This option isn't available where it is supposed to be. How can I fix this?

The blog I need help with is georgethekkedath.wordpress.com.

  2. What do you mean by a banner? No advertising banners are allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. What is the URL of the blog in question wearing the Academica theme please?

Do you mean a custom image header? See here for details on how the theme is designed http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/academica/ scroll down to Quick specs:
The suggested header image dimensions are 960 by 300 (width, height). However, the height is flexible so you can upload a smaller cropped image if you wish.
Featured images in the sticky posts slider are also 960 by 300, but are fixed in height and width.
All other featured images are 120 width, and 80 in height. These images are displayed on posts on the home page, on archive pages, and on the search results page.

  3. Sorry, I meant custom image header. I was using this blog when I was trying to figure out how to create one: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/academia-featured-post-silder?replies=11

The link to the blog I'm working on is: http://demo2.trinfocafe.org/

Are there different versions to the Academia theme? The one I'm using doesn't seem to have the option to enable the Featured Image Slider. I went to "Settings" then to "Reading" and in the blog posted above it said there is supposed to be an option for "Featured Content" but I couldn't find one.

  4. re: different software and different version of the theme

http://demo2.trinfocafe.org/ is a WordPress.org install. It's not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and those are the only blogs we provide support for here. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don't have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there.

  5. Thank you

  6. You're welcome and best wishes.
