Academica change size of post slider on home page?

  1. Is there any way to change the width of the post slider image area and add a sidebar to right of it? Would like it to be 730px x 200px. And can anyone direct me to where I may find directions for adding or moving a sidebar up?
    thanks!

    The blog I need help with is eornetwork.wordpress.com.

  2. The following sets the slider width at 730px, but leaves the height as it is at 300. If we change the height, it distorts the image. This also moves the existing right sidebar up beside the slider. Take a look and see what you think.

    #slider-wrap {
    width: 730px !important;
    }

    #wrap {
    position: relative;
    }

    #content .column-last {
    position: absolute;
    top: 60px;
    right: 20px;
    }
  3. That is perfect! thanks so much.

  4. Another thing - I'm not using a header and this left an orange line across the page once I remove the header. How do I remove the line?
    here's the page with the line: http://eornetwork.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Feornetwork.wordpress.com%2F

  5. I'm not seeing an orange line, except the top and bottom border lines on the slider. Is that what you are taking about? If so, add the following to your CSS:

    #slider-wrap {
    border: none;
    }

    If you are talking about another line, can you take a screenshot and upload it to your media library so I can see it?
