Ad Link to Tagline

  1. How do I ad a link to my Tagline?

The blog I need help with is tenacitynotes.com.

  2. I'm sorry but that's not possible on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

  3. I understood it was possible if I bought the $30 upgrade, which I did.

  4. I don't think she means an ad as in advertisement -- maybe she means she wants to make her tagline a link using custom CSS? (But if she means an advertisement, that's clearly not possible regardless of the upgrade.)

  5. Add v. ad -- quite a difference! :-)

  6. It's my understanding that you can't but I don't help with CSS. Currently, we have only 1 Volunteer (thesacredpath) who does aside from Staff who do provide CSS support so I'll leave it to them to give you a definitive answer. Please be patient while you wait as TSP works and only stops in now and then. Also Staff have deactivated the support link until 12PM UTC on Monday 1st August. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Indeed blogger imitated advertising is not allowed on free hosted WordPress.com blogs, but I read the first thread the OP posted and that's not what he/she is seeking. The OP wants to insert a link in the tagline to his/her profile, and neither you nor I can help with that.

  8. Edit: I'm sorry "imitated " was meant to be "initiated"

  9. CSS is a styling document that the browsers use to format site pages. It cannot be used for adding functionality.

It is possible to delete the tagline and then put the tagline (linked) into a text widget and then position that particular text widget up and into the header area and style it similar to the existing tagline, but on some themes this works well while on others less so.

  10. Yes, misspelled word, please forgive me. I did mean add a link, not add an ad! I want to insert a link in the tagline to my Web site (not a wordpress site). Possible?

  11. As thesacredpath said, there is a way of doing it yes.

  12. @jettso
Currently only one Volunteer thesacredpath helps with CSS editing. He stated that this can be done on some themes and it works well and on other it does not work well. There is Staff support for the custom design upgrade however Staff have deactivated the support link here http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and will not activate it again until 12PM UTC on Monday 1st August.
