Add Author to post using Default (Kubrick) theme

  1. I have read about adding the Author to the beginning of a post, and how you're supposed to add <?php the_author(); ?> within The Loop.
    I am using the Default theme (Kubrick, and modifying it for my needs).
    Looking at the index.php file for the Kubrick theme, it appears that Template Tag is already in there, but the Author is not showing in posts. Am I missing something?
    Here is a snippet of the code to that index.php page - see it in there?

    <div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
    <h2>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></h2>
    <small><?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?> <!-- by <?php the_author() ?> --></small>

    <div class="entry">
    <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?>
    </div>

  2. You're in the wrong forum, I'm afraid. Self-hosted blogs are supported at wordpress.org. This is wordpress.com, and quite different.

  3. Figured it out! The Author portion was commented out! I fixed it!
