I want to add a blog page to an existing website, http://bluffcountry.com. Can I just add the code for all the functionality to my webpage in bluffcountry.com and manage the blog updates through WordPress? (I'm new at all this, so please be patient)

Well, since you have http://bcwmn.wordpress.com/ already, you can simply link to it from your website and then everything is hosted and maintained here for the blog. If you want more integration, you can presumably install software from WordPress.ORG on your webspace and build a WP.org blog there. See the WordPress.org site for instructions.
