Add DNS record for mettesmaleri.wordpress.com

  1. I've tried to add a Zone Record for the domain mettesmaleri.com but it asked me to contact support. Could you please add the Zone Record for me?

The blog I need help with is mettesmaleri.wordpress.com.

  2. I have added the DNS record. You should be good to go.

  3. Thank you. Now, when I type in the primary nameserver which is NS1.WORDPRESS.COM (I guess...?), it comes up with this error:

"Error: Svar fra primær navneserver: "ns1.wordpress.com"
    Query refused [mettesmaleri.dk,NS,IN].

The name server says it refuses to give us an answer."

Can you help me with that?

Do I have to pay for the Zone record you have added? By the way, you wirte "DNS record" - is the same as 2zone record?

    Kind regards Mette.

  4. Hi,

So it looks like you are trying to map mettesmaleri.com to your WordPress.com site. However, I am not seeing the Domain Mapping upgrade on your account. So that may be the cause of the nameserver issue. You can add Domain Mapping by logging into your WordPress.com site's dashboard and going to Store-->Store and choosing "add a domain". There are also instructions here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

Do I have to pay for the Zone record you have added?

No, but you will have to pay for the domain Mapping upgrade. $13/yr

By the way, you wirte "DNS record" - is the same as 2zone record?

That was a mistake on my part. I apologize for the confusion. I had meant to write "I have added the zone record."

  5. Again, thanks for your answer. I have decided to silve my problem in another way. That is: importing all my wordpress content to a new wordpress site to where my domain mettelindberg.dk have benn connected by my host.

Unfortunately, by a mistake, I've imported my content two times which have resultet in my blog posts appearing two times each on my site mettesmaleri.dk.

Is there anything to do about that? Is there a way in which I can remoove the import file as I apparently have imported the same file twice?

    Kins regards Mette

  6. Hi,

Because mettelindberg.dk is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site's files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: http://wordpress.org/support/ http://codex.wordpress.org/
