   A text widget.

   Usually a text widget unless you are trying to add an image as a link in your links widget. If there aren't any text widgets in your available widget box under presentation > widgets, scroll down and increase the number of text widgets available and click "save changes. After the page refreshes, there will be another text widget available to drag up to the side bar. Then follow the instructions.
