  1. Basically I run a music blog, and I'm looking to have artists personally blog on my site to help them reach out to a larger fan base. Also, it can help up and coming artists better connect with their fans. My only problem is that I'm wondering what's the best way to have these various artists do so. I'm not sure I like the idea of making them authors in my site, so I was wondering if any of you have any other suggestions? Most of these artists already have their own blogs, so I was wondering if there was a way to sinc their personal posts up with my blog, or import them in some manner? I'd really appreciate some advice. Feel free to check out my site at whatsinmypod.com to get a better idea.

The blog I need help with is whatsinmypod.com.

  2. Having duplicate content on the web is a bad idea because it ends up diluting the search engine ranking for all blogs involved and they all end up competing with one another. If you make them contributors, then they have very limited access to your site and can't really do anything to mess it up, and you get to approve the posts and publish them. Contributors cannot publish. The only drawback is they cannot insert images and the like.

The other possibility is to have them email you the post and then you can insert it for them and put a byline at the top with a link back to their blog or site. If you do this, make sure and use the "paste as plain text button on the lower toolbar in the editor so that any email coding is stripped out.
