Add photos to category blog roll

  1. I'm working on launching a website for my company. I have upgraded to CSS and was hoping there might be some secret to adding photos next to post titles in the blog rolls for categories.

For example, if you click on the Body Language category it just shows the title of the most recent post, but not the featured photo. Is there a way to make the category blog rolls look just like the main page blog rolls with a featured image above the blog title and first bit of content.

What I would ideally LOVE is if you could click on the page link (the pages are listed just below the header) and then below the discription of the feature, the blog roll for that category appeared there, but I think that might require me setting up a whole new site and using dreamweaver to edit .php and a whole big mess that I don't really want to get into.

    Any help would be appreciated!

The blog I need help with is benjaminevents.wordpress.com.

  2. You can't change the function of a theme via CSS. You'll need to find one that shows images and that probably means one that shows entire posts.

  3. The workaround is to add the image to your post as you normally would (a regular image rather than a featured image) switch to the HTML editor and then copy the resulting code and anything else you want displayed into the excerpts box. It won't style the image exactly the same as on the main page but the image will be shown on the categories page. If you go this route you will have to make this addition in every single post, there's no way to do it automatically.

  4. Thanks halluke! I'll give it a try and report back.
