Added picture to my post and the text all disappeared!

  1. I added a picture to my post after it was saved and all of my text disappeared! This had happened earlier today when I did a previous post but all of a sudden it returned when I removed the added picture. It is NOT working this time and I'm pretty upset since I was almost finished.
I had made sure to save the draft because I was afraid of it disappearing. Is there anyway to get it back?

The blog I need help with is jottingswithjasmine.wordpress.com.

  2. Check previous revisions.
If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You've made me one happy camper!!

  4. You're welcome!
Ever since the latest WP updates, some users have been reporting issues with drafts. Safer method while preparing a new post: set it to privately published instead of draft.

  5. I do appreciate the advice. I'm pretty new at this and it takes a little while to learn all of the wp idiosyncrasies! I'm still having trouble to add this darn picture though. Every time I try to add it to the top of the text the text disappears.
Patience is a virtue the say :)

  6. That shouldn't be happening. Please publish the post so we can check its code, and describe the exact steps you're using to insert the image. Also, what browser and version are you using?

  7. Of course as soon I sent you the last message, I got it to work. Thanks again for all your help and patience!

  8. You're welcome.
But the browser question is important: hope you're not using Explorer, are you?

  9. IE is the devil's spawn. :D lol

  10. No I'm using safari. I managed to finally get my post done!! Maybe I should not do posts at night :)

  11. IMO this was an unusual day. I suspect your issue was due to Staff doing backend work but who knows? Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better one for you.

  12. The revision module information was invaluable!

  13. Indeed it is and that why I blogged it here: Recovering a lost blog post or page

  14. BTW on the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page. The searchbox there provides results from the support documentation and from fourm threads. I've been here almost 6 years and it's rare that a question is asked that has not been previously asked and answered.
