adding a discussion board to a wordpress.com site

  1. How do I add a discussion board like this one to my own wordpress.com site?

The blog I need help with is connectionscounseling.wordpress.com.

  2. There is no forum that you can embed into a free hosted WordPress.com blog. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. You have three options:

    (1) Use the P2 theme which is a Twitter-like theme on your current blog.
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/p2/ and add official users to your blog.

    (2) Create another blog and use the P2 theme on it and then create a custom menu on your main blog and include a custom link to the second blog in it. Then add official users to that blog.

    (3) Register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.

    (4) Are you aware of the meebo chat widget > Appearance > Widgets

  3. Hi, I'd like to have that feature too but it seems is quite impossible to do.

The P2 feature would be nice if I could embedded it in a page only, without changing all the blog set up. And I don't want to send the readers away to another traffic blog, or forum. The discussion board can be interesting because the users stay on our blog.

If I'm not wrong, the meebo chat works only between you and someone else, not for all the users together, and the messages don't stay there offline, and I suppose it's not possible to embed the chat in a page either.

I really hope they could create this feature. Just a simple discussion board would be awesome.

  4. I have done something similar but it is a temporary measure:

On my site there is a link called "Any Questions" and it takes you to my forums.
