I would like to add a link to a page under the "home" and "about" menus on the left side but I think I read that my theme only supports one menu, so I guess that would be the "about" page. I want to add a page to my blog where I continually update the page with tips and tricks I learn in cooking (novel idea I know...) and can't figure out if I need to use a widget or a menu or what...so confused.

Your cusom menu can have as many items in it as you wish. To create pages see http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
