Adding a subdomain/Creating an A Record

    Hi all

    Two hopefully quick questions:

    I would like to add a subdomain to my blog and I think the solution is to simply purchase another domain as follows:

    http://www.EXAMPLE.thebetfairfootballtrader.com

    1) Am I correct in this assumption?

    2) Is it possible to create an A record?

    The blog I need help with is thebetfairfootballtrader.com.

    Okay, I've just managed to find the definitive on "A records" and I think the answer is a resounding no :-(

    My query now changes to..........

    If I were to transfer to another host, would I still have all the funtionality of the WordPress dashboard available to me?

    Depends which version of WordPress you used, and which plugins you add. It's more or less the same, but you'll need to add things like stats packages, and various bits and bobs depending on what you want to do with your blog.

    WordPress.COM has a lot of extra widgets you won't find in a self-hosted blog. You will have to find and download similar widgets or plugins to gain the full capability available here.

    As far as the basic dashboard, it is nearly the same except for the .COM specific sections.
