I'm attempting to add "Add This" to my blog - I'm a .com not a .org and of course I get the standard "wp-content/plugins directory" line as the next step - which is really getting old considering we cannot do that and nearly everything requires it.
Is there anything else I can do? I'm so frustrated that I'm almost ready to switch to another blog host.

Replace XXXXX with your blog's name "mackeyscorner" and copy and paste the code above into a text widget for your sidebar.
There are no "plugins" for wordpress.com blogs. What you are looking at is plugins for wordpress.org software - it's different software than the wordpress.com multiuser wp-MU software that we run on here.

Okay, to make sure I understand...
If I want the social bookmark button I would have to manually add it each time I post rather than it being automatic like their site indicated it could be either with a wp.com or a wp.org - correct?
If I want more flexibility as a regular ole blogger I would have to upgrade to .org, is that correct too?
And finally - I'm off to add the RSS feed reader now and see if that helps.
I really like wordpress and I've already had so much more traffic because of the being here that I don't want to leave BUT I also don't want to have to learn code or have to become a computer tech just to work my blog... lol - no, serioulsy, that was a LOL!

Correct - on a wordpress.com blog we must add this to every post.

Yes and no. If you want total control over your template you would have to leave this wordpress.com free hosted multi-user blogging platforum wp-MU and move, either to self hosting on your own server or to hiring a web host to do that for you. You or your host could download free wordpress.org software which is different from the wp-MU that we have here.
I'm not in the least technically inclined. I have placed the social bookmarking code in a private page on my blog. Whenever I write a post I simply copy it and paste it to the end of the post.

You'll have to add them manually because we don't have access to the templates where we could place codes to automatically do it. Just save them on Notepad or something so they'll be readily available.

Can't you just put the code into a widget for both the bookmark and feed "add this"?
I did this (http://openparachute.wordpress.com) and it looks OK. I think it works but can't be sure.
Yes, you can put both codes into a text widget and display them in your sidebar. I tried yours and they are working. :)
But does it work for the individual posts, or just for the blog as a whole? Like, have you tested it and made sure that when you click on that ADD THIS in your sidebar only the one post is recommended to those social bookmarking links?
