adding copyright & privacy policy to quintus footer

  1. Hi,

    I'm trying to add © 2012 Creative Commons and privacy policy links to the quintus theme footer.

    I searched for "footer" in the code but with my limited knowledge I don't understand where I need to add the code...

    Ideally, I would like it to either follow or come before the following:
    Blog at WordPress.com. | Theme: Quintus by Automattic.

    If it could be separated by the same vertical line, that would be lovely.

    Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    Fairouz

    PS. I'm still working on my site so it's currently set as private.

    The blog I need help with is onrelating.com.

  2. There is not a way to add links using CSS only. However, sometimes you can take a sidebar widget and use absolute positioning to re-position it into the footer. In order to do this, first you need to add a text widget with the text and links you'd like to use into the sidebar area. Then you can use an example like this to move it around on the page:

    #main {
    	position: relative;
    }
    #secondary {
    	position: static;
    }
    #site-generator {
    	padding-top: 22px;
    }
    #YOUR_TEXT_WIDGET_ID {
    	position: absolute;
    	bottom: -110px;
    	left: 70px;
    }

    You may need to adjust the numbers until things are moved to where you want.

    Replace YOUR_TEXT_WIDGET_ID with your text widget ID value. You'll need to add the text widget first and then look at the page source code in order to find the ID. It will be visible in the sidebar HTML as something like id="text-2"

    If you'd like to re-adjust the sidebar area (which is hidden when no widgets have been added), you will need to add separate CSS for that.

  3. Many thanks, I'll try that.
