Adding Etsy and Pinterest to widgets??

    Ok, so I've read all the posts about adding code to a text widget, but it's not working.
    This is the pinterest code

    Pin It

    This is the etsy code

    Dang, the backticks don't work on the pinterest code.

    You cannot use the Pinterest widget but Pinterest has HTML code for the button that you can use. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy it. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/

    Then, go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets select a text widget. Paste the code into the widget, save the widget, close the widget and put it where you want in your sidebar (only works in sidebar).

    We cannot use JavaScript on free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons.

    I saw the follow me ones from pinterest, but was wanting to use the "Pin it" button for websites. Is that not possible?

    Using JavaScript widgets in free hosted WordPress.com blogs is not possible. The software will strip the code out to preserve security as this is a multiuser blogging platform. One bad script in one blog could bring down many blogs.

    The blog in question is not linked to your username. Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question so we can confirm whether or not you are actually referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog?

    Thanks for the link. I visited and see you have the Pinterest up now. Best wishes with your blog.

    P.S. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

    Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
