Howdy, there. Alrighty-- I've searched for hours about finding code that will work with WordPress.com blogs to play a music file automatically as the page loads. I've searched the Support forums here and the knowledge base, and I'm led to understand that anything with Flash or Javascript is disabled due to security issues, which I can respect (I just don't like it :P). Now, there's a new order of things coming about-- HTML5-- and though some browsers don't support it yet, many of the new ones do and will. HTML5 has varied features-- including an <audio> tag-- that will make things on the web much richer, faster, and easier. I tried implementing this new audio tag into an HTML sidebar widget, but the code was disabled. This has nothing to do with Flash or Java-- is there any reason why I can't use this code? It is, after all, plain HTML. Will I be able to use it soon? Please?!
Also, I don't suppose there's any way I could pay WordPress.com to let me use an automatic music player? I think not, but I thought I'd ask.
One last thing-- there's no such thing as a plain HTML player anywhere out there, I presume? It doesn't sound possible, but then you never know.
The blog I need help with is ipfsquared.wordpress.com.
