Adding plugins

  1. Hi, I was wondering why wordpress.com doesn't allow plugins...
I've heard that's because security reasons, but I'm very lay to understand that exactly.
So, if there's any possibility, my suggestion would be that, instead of users, the wordpress team add some useful popular plugins.
I'd love to use Fotomoto on my blog, but definetely am not disposed to host my own site...

The blog I need help with is danielkons1.wordpress.com.

  2. You can read all about plugins at http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

Also, don't forget the ideas forum, where you can discuss your suggestion with the WordPress.com community: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideasi

  3. I've had read it already...
I'm aware about the ideas forum as well, we're on it right now in case you didn't notice.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

  4. My observation on Plug-in's - we have a lot more Widgets than a standard WordPress.ORG theme - most of the Widgets started as Plug-in's - - we also have several themes that seem to have the functions of Plug-in's built into the theme (I am thinking of some of the Photo themes)

  5. Good point auxclass.
In fact, I may have not expressed quite well...
Instead of a plugin, my suggestion would be to add a Fotomoto widget to wordpress.com

  6. I don't know what it is, but if it's like Instagram, just try adding the feed to a Flickr widget.

  7. It's not like Instagram, it's kind of a print shop at your own site actually. Very specific.

  8. We've registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates! Thank you.

  9. Thank you.
