Adding those cute little twitter, and fb symbols to sidebar

  1. Did you actually read anything I posted above> And did you click through read what was at the links I posted?

There is no FTP access to free hosted wordpress.COM blogs
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
We cannot upload any plugins into wordpress.com free hosted blogs
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

The Twitter widget we can use on wordpress.COM free hosted blogs is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-widget/

  2. @megameyer-Neither can we because we still don't know which blog you are trying to put the twitter widget in. As tt already pointed out, the blog linked to your username is empty. So how bout we start with the link to your blog, including the http:// part?

  3. @timethief, Yes, I did. Please consider that my particular issues might not have been addressed by those links, but I very much appreciate your having dug them up for my use. Thank you.

However, I checked with my host server yesterday about the FTP connection. They told me I shouldn't have a problem with WP plugins anymore.

In experimenting with different themes, I found that the Twitter Widget works in some and not others. That means I am perfectly capable, under certain circumstances, of using plugins -- my problem was elsewhere.

@justjennifer, Thanks for letting me know. I'll looking into why my blog and username aren't properly linked.

  4. Here's how to link your wordpress.com username to your active wordpress.com blog. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

  5. However, I checked with my host server yesterday about the FTP connection. They told me I shouldn't have a problem with WP plugins anymore.

Since there is no FTP access nor can we install plugins on WordPress.com, my conclusion from the above statement is that you are in the wrong forum. This forum is for blogs on the hosted service, WordPress.com. From the sound of it, you need to be looking for help over at the site for self-hosted blogs running the WordPress.org software. http://wordpress.org/support/

  6. Timethief: I love your HTML table on your site of all the social media buttons!. Can you pls. share the code that I can modify with my info. I found a HTML table generator on google but i'm lost when it comes to inserting the images and links. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks. My site is still under renovation but here it is. cheflynnware.wordpress.com
