Adding world map to blog

  1. I'd like to use a map graphic to track where I am, and where commenters are based. Does anyone know a map tool I can add--if you do, please let me have as much detail as you can manage on where and how to add it to my blog so people can easily see it--should it have its own page, or should it be added to the bottom of every post? Thanks...

The blog I need help with is blarneycrone.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi Blarneycrone.
Here at wordpress.COM we have a platial map widget. I found this link in the support documents, it should help you set it up. :)

I'd recommend looking at embedding Google Maps on a page. (It can't be put into a widget.) You can customize your map to show where you are. Unfortunately it won't automatically track where your visitors are.

You can put code for these into a text widget on your sidebar:
This map shows where your visitors come from and is free, and it's easy to place in your sidebar:

This is a list of where your visitors are from with flags from each country and # of visitors:

(There is a state flag counter as well if you are interested in the U.S.)
