Adelle CSS Help

  1. I want to change the color of the side bar where my widgets are located. Right now it is a grey color. Anyone know how to do this. I am a very new blogger and need some help. I typed:
    /* Sidebar */
    .aside {
    background: white;
    }

    into the CSS revisions space but nothing happens.

    Please Help!

    thanks :)

    The blog I need help with is theironrangevegetarian.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there, add the following custom CSS and edit the color code as desired.

    .site-main .widget-area {
        background: #F8F8F8;
    }
  3. Thank you for your reply. I guess part of my problem is that I don't know where to enter the code. I've very new to this...

    Also how do I edit the color code? Do just I change it to say then name of the color I would like?

    Thank you!

  4. Go to Appearance > Customize > CSS and paste in the custom CSS I gave above.

    To change the color, you can use one of the online color pickers for web smart colors, such as this one. Choose the color you want and then copy the web smart hex color code and replace the alpha-numeric number after the # symbol in the background declaration.

    You can also use a web standard color name which you can find at: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colornames.asp. If you use a name, replace the # and the alpha-numeric number after.

  5. Thank you so much for your help! Now I would like to change just the color of the widget headers in that same bar. They are currently grey. How would I go about doing that?

    Also, is if possible to change the color of the blue wordpress strip at the top of the widget bar that says "follow the Iron Range Vegetarian" or does that have to stay blue?

    Thank you for your help I really appreciate it :)

  6. You can use this for widget header (with #ffffff as example):

    .widget-title,
    #secondary .widget-title a,
    .widgettitle {
    	color: #ffffff;
    }

    I don't think the Follow button can be styled, though.

  7. Awesome! Thanks for your help :)

    Under blog stats where it lists the count and a few other items on the side bar are showing up grey. Is it possible to change that color as well?

    Also is it possible to center my blog stats count number (so it is directly under the header that says "blog stats" ?

    thank you for your help :)

  8. Under blog stats where it lists the count and a few other items on the side bar are showing up grey. Is it possible to change that color as well?

    The following CSS will change pretty much all text color inside a widget (excluding links, which will remain pink as it is now) to white:

    .widget {
    	color: #ffffff;
    }

    Under blog stats where it lists the count and a few other items on the side bar are showing up grey. Is it possible to change that color as well?

    Yes, try this:

    #blog-stats-2 li {
    	text-align: center;
    }
  9. Thank you! One last thing. Looks like I would also like a center my urban spoon badge on the side bar, but cant figure out how to do it. Can that be centered as well?

    Thanks for your help... I'm very new at this!

  10. Yeah, that will look better centered. Use this:

    #text-2 {
    	text-align: center;
    }
