Ads showing up in mobile/iphone version of posts

  1. Hi,
Posted this [very silly] post today: http://imissyouwheniblink.com/2012/07/04/fidelio/

When I view the post on an iphone, there's an ad showing up at the end of it. I've heard that wordpress sometimes drops ads into blogs without notice, but just want to be sure that this isn't some kind of spam. A couple of my readers closed the page immediately, convinced that they'd been spammed in some way by the blinking ad at the bottom of the post.

    Anyone know?

The blog I need help with is imissyouwheniblink.com.

  2. WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

  3. I figured as much - just hadn't ever seen the little buggers before. Thanks!
