Adsense is now appearing on my blog posts OUT OF THE BLUE

    Hey Guys,

If you check my blog the top posts now have adsense at the bottom of it.

I have been running the blog for months without using any advertisements and now all of a sudden it appears on my blog.

Do you know why this is?

I mean, I do want to earn revenue for my blog but I'm not sure if this revenue is come to my pocket...

    How do I find out.

Also, another question, I also applied for WORDADS but still have not heard a response from them. Will they ever respond back?

    Thanks so much!

    Daryl

The blog I need help with is jamdanceboogie.com.

  2. WordPress.com started running ads on blogs here in 2006.

From the support document on advertising:

Note: To support the service (and keep free features free), we sometimes run advertisements. We try hard to only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade.

    From the Terms of Service:

    10. Advertisements. Automattic reserves the right to display advertisements on your blog unless you have purchased an Ad-free Upgrade or a VIP Services account.

    Oh ok. Soooo...

WordPress's version of adsense is only applicable to those blogs who gets large amount of traffic to their site, Correct?

I applied for wordads when beginning my blog 5 months ago but never responded back to me. And the information on this was wishy washy to me.

Can you explain, the prerequisites on getting WORDADS onto a blog?

  4. No, incorrect. WP.com puts ads on all our blogs unless we buy the Ad Free upgrade.

We don't know what qualifies one blog for WordAds and what doesn't. Only staff know for sure.

  5. Only staff can explain the wordads stuff. None of us volunteers know anymore than is in the WordAds support page.

The ads that wordpress runs are not based on traffic, so sites with low traffic can get them, and so can high traffic sites.

As far as why they have not gotten back to you, that is something only staff would know.

    Ok. Thanks for your help.

I've seen some sites similar to my blog with WordAds. I wish they could get back to me.

    Peace

  7. You are welcome.
