   Im so very confused about the issue of, can I or can i not apply advertisements on my blog? I use third party affiliate programs and I added a few links to see if I could make some money, but when clicked I keep getting redirected to the "types of blogs" page. Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong. Why cant i advertise on WordPress. Am I allowed to advertise my own company, or leave links that lead to products in my own store? Please advise someone.

   The blog I need help with is eroticcitydrive.wordpress.com.

   Affiliate links are not allowed here and can get your blog deleted. If wordpress changes any of your links to the "types of blogs" URL, that means they are not allowed.

   User advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under "Affiliate marketing blogs" in the bottom set of bullet points in the "types of blogs" link below.

   If you want to advertise, you will have to self-host a blog at a third-party hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, etc., using the software from wordpress.ORG. Figure an average total cost of between $10 and $25 per month all things considered. Self-hosting comes with added responsibilities though. You will be responsible for all installations, all upgrades, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure out what that is and fix it.
