Hi everyone,
I hope this question fits in here and has not been asked dozens of times before.
I have noticed that the number of comments blocked by Akismet keeps going up even though Akismet does not ask me to check if a comment is spam.
Where are the comments going that are treated as spam right away? How does Akismet decide which ones can be treated as spam right away and which ones need to be presented to me first? How can I be sure that it doesn't treat completely legitimate comments as spam when I have no chance to check them?
In their FAQ they write "When the plugin catches something as spam it saves it in the database for 15 days in case you want to check it out manually and then automattically deletes it", but I cannot find any of these comments stored anywhere.
I'd be glad to gain a little insight into the workings of Akismet.
Thanks a lot,
Kristin.
