Why? I also agree that you should pay for a steak dinner for everybody here at wp.com. Does that make it right?
I have a feeling that you may even be at the wrong forums as I don't see a blog here for you under your username.

Great News! Wordpress is cooperating with Google Adsense and is going to permit ads to its bloggers in wordpress.com.
That's what Matt Mullenweg told in an interview to a greek newspaper [kathimerini] on Sunday. [Matt visited Greece 10 days ago to participate in the 1st Greek Blogger Camp at the island of Ios.]
You can read Matt's interview here Η συνέντευξη του Matt Mullenweg στην Καθημερινή [unfortunately in Greek], BUT you can listen to him [in english] downloading the two parts interview from the Net-Box in the left sidebar here: http://tsimitakis.wordpress.com
Some impatience out there? I' m translating from greek [sorry for any mistakes]:
Matt: "In addition, we 're working with Google Adsense and we're going to permit to the users to host ads and earn money from their blogs. We're trying to find a way that will permit especially to the users of Wordpress.com to earn more money than the money they could earn in any other platform".
Weren't we just discussing how the volenteers here in teh forums are left in the dark about staff's plans.
If it's true, then it may be time for some of us "volunteers" to find hosting elsewhere. Why? Because there's no freaking way on this earth that I'm going to volunteer to "help" the influx of penny grubbing sploggers and spammers that we will get here on the forum when they add wordpress.com blogs to their pimping for pennies blog stables.
I seriously doubt its true, i mean it was only the other day that Mark confirmd that there was no ads on wp.com.
That said, like TT if it was addedd, i think i'd move elsewhere. I despise ada and want nothing to do with them
The majority response to Matt on What's your favorite feature was the that feature we liked the most at wordpress.com was that our blogs were advertising free. http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/09/02/favorite-feature/
However, wordpress does run adsense ads on our blogs here and has been doing so since last July. http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/09/06/on-ads/
The vocal minority who keep requesting adsense on the forum do not distinguish themselves by helping others on the forum. Moreover, if blogger initiated adsense is allowed at wordpress.com then Matt's post above indicates it's likely that it will be as a paid upgrade. And, IMO, if that is the case, then the minority who desire this defacement of their blogs in return for pennies are not likely to want to pay for the service.
Tell you what. Let's not make guesses. If we get adsense, we get adsense and we'll make judgement calls then.
Let's not worry about it until then.
I'm not worrying ~ I'm preparing.
I'm with TT; it is always the penny ante ones who are the most trouble; businesslike or dedicated amateurs are focused on the issues, not re-shaping the periods in their Adsense box and maximizing the 35 cents per week they get. I'm not sure at this point if I'll mock or ice the typhoon of Adsense questions we will get on here, but it's going to be one or the other for sure.
Hmmmm ... mocking sounds good. I have spent a whole year being nice when what I actually excel in is the use of sarcasm so, maybe I'll go off now and sharpen my ummmm ... wit, while I prepare.
I've dealt with too many of this type of person offline. They want eight complete drafts before they'll even sign a contract...they will abandon you at the slightest sign of something cheaper out there...their children are probably walking to school in plastic flip-flops and paper slippers they took home from the hospital when they had their tonsils out, so they can "save for college." They will be no end of a PIA.
What? You mean they aren't all driving Maserati's with their adsenseless profits? And just who do you think you are anyway? Denying these people a chance to make their million on the internet, just like everybody else is mean spirited.
Today I'm writing the lesson plan for my How To Blog course for entrepreneurs, and I keep having to strip out the rather vivid language I use in describing the expectation of advertising riches. Sure, it's like a newspaper where you can put ads on it. The trouble is, there are over fifty million other newspapers out there. Sorta dilutes the market a titch.
roflma i just had a spam mail from some company claiming they can halp me make a million dollars within a year using googles adsence
oooooh the temptation, should i go sign up, only cost $50!!!
That's nothing: I can teach you the secret for just $49.99! Think of the savings!
There’s only one other way to make lots of easy money through Google Adsense: Write an e-book about it and sell it to the suckers! And, as there's a new adsenseless blogger born every minute -- it's a growth industry.
So's porn but we allow that. :)
(Have no idea why I said that. It popped into my mind.)
No, Dr Mike; that's very different. Porn DOES make money.
Porn makes serious money. You should see what I rent those boxes out for although he does have a guantee on the amount of bandwidth he's allowed.
By the way, why is this "Great News!"?
By the way, why is this "Great News!"?
I've been wondering that myself.
It means that soon, more than half the forum will be stuff we don't have to concern ourselves with. The SEO sharks can handle that.
I am just waiting to see how much I will make out of blogging. Maybe I can retire. :)
*snort* I'm happy to just get a check every month. 13 days until my next now. I'm buying a frigging bus pass.
You can afford a bus pass and laundry service. Cry me a river, dude.
Couldn't this month. Had to pay for my meds.
I like(d) WP.com for not allowing ads. I like my blog being pretty and clutter free. But WP blogs do have ads, or the test ads that have been going on for too long.
All unique visitors see Ads on my blog and I do not like that idea. Even if I am not making any money out of any ads and I do not want any ads on my blog, I am still having them.
They may be test ads (http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/07/27/testing-ads/) or whatever but I do not want them on my blog. Ad free is a feature of WP that attracts a lot of people but WP is not exactly ad free.
Clear your browser of cookies and temp files, search for your blog on google and viola Ads on your blog!

"Great news" for the user who started this topic and asked for ads.

* Ads ..."
Looks like ads are finally in!
So what. There might be many who aren't so happy about that. I, for one, don't want my blog looking like a chintzy 'five and dime' store. Second, I've worked hard enough in life, that I hope I don't need to use my blog to shill other people out of their money! That's what I think about all of this "ad" stuff.
I write some simple programs and host them on a site I host myself the ads don't even cover the hosting costs most of the time, but that doesn't bother me as I most use that site for test and my WordPress for my personal stuff and I don't want ads here. There more hassle then their worth.
Plus hosting on wp.com is so cheap when I get round to buying my domain it will be though wp.
