   There used to be an "Editor" option that allowed one to edit sidebar.php, sidebar2, page.php, etc. Have I been staring at the screen for too many hours, or is it really gone??? Didn't it used to be under Appearance? I just used the Editor yesterday! And I thought it was under "Appearance" or maybe under "Tools".

   I am wanting to get rid of the Leave Reply box and get rid of all commenting.
   Also, since the Search button doesn't work, I want to get rid of it.

   All of the above applies to BOTH of my blogs, jennynazak.wordpress.com and hillcountrynatives.wordpress.com

   Editor option? there's no such thing... if you want to edit your post, go to the POSTS tab, then each post there has an edit option below... i hope this helps :)

   At wordpress.com there never has been an editor button because we've never been able to edit theme files (we all share the same files on this multi-user platform). Here we have the CSS editor at appearance > custom design which requires the Custom Design Upgrade and allows you to only make changes to the CSS. It does not let you edit theme files.

   There is an editor to edit theme files on the self-hosted version of wordpress.

   I am wanting to get rid of the Leave Reply box and get rid of all commenting.

   Works for me. You are clicking on the Search field, entering what you want and pressing the Enter button, right?

   Thanks everyone! I think THESACREDPATH has answered my question. My personal blog WAS self-hosted but i migrated over to wordpress.com, so I guess I lose the option to edit the sidebar etc?

   Same as airodyssey, I do want to get rid of that Leave Reply box!

   Appreciate the speedy and helpful responses. :-)

   I am able to turn off comments, but that LEAVE REPLY box is still there.
