Am I out of my depth with CSS?

  1. Hi,

    I think I need a CSS upgrade.

    I am working in Triton Lite and would like to remove the header image from all of my pages except the Home page and also want to remove the date from all my posts.

    The problem is that I am a complete novice and have never before worked with HTML and only heard of CSS for the first time last week! To be honest I've had a look at the free preview and couldn't get my head around it at all. If I do buy the upgrade how difficult would it be for me to do these things?

    Thanks so much for your advice.

    Rebecca.

    The blog I need help with is rebeccaearp.wordpress.com.

  2. If I do buy the upgrade how difficult would it be for me to do these things?

    There's a preview button on the Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page that you can use to try it out before you buy the upgrade. Also, we can help out with CSS questions here in the forums. I'll post some examples for you to try out, and in the mean time you should check out some tutorials like these:

  3. I would like to remove the header image from all of my pages except the Home page.

    You can hide the header image for different types of pages using the selector for that page. For example, to hide the header image on posts, pages, archive pages, and search results in the Triton Lite theme, add this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page:

    .single #header-image,
    .page #header-image,
    .archive #header-image,
    .search #header-image {
    	display: none;
    }
  4. I want to remove the date from all my posts.

    To hide post dates in the Triton Lite theme, try this:

    .entry-date {
    	display: none;
    }
