Andreas 09 -- limiting the # of articles visible on my home page

    Hello.
I have many articles listed on my home page. I am finding that having multiple articles listed -- one right below the current one and so on -- is overwhelming to some of my readers. Consequently, I would like to limit the # of articles to my current article. Is there a way to accomplish this task -- limit the # of articles visible on my home page. I am currently using the Andreas 09 Theme. If so, could you please be so kind to walk me through the process?

Thank you for your time and kindness.

    Craig

The blog I need help with is secondchancetolive.wordpress.com.

    Hi Timethief,
Thank you for your time and kindness. I am looking for the >Settings>Reading in the dashboard, however I have not been able to find it my friend. Could you please give me some more direction? Thank you. Craig By the way, I love your avatar.

  4. Go to the far right hand column on your Admin Page
Scroll down to "Settings" and click
    When it opens click "Reading"
    Now find this:
Blog pages show at most __posts
Change the number to a lower number
    Then click "Save Changes"

Thank you so very much Timethief. I did so and whalla. I have a follow-up question. I changed the _ to 1 from 10 on the Blog pages show at most, however I am not sure what to do with the Syndication feeds show the most recent, which are at 10. What are syndicated feeds in reference to Second Chance to Live and would you recommend reducing those feeds too? What is the pros and cons of having high syndication #'s as opposed to having low syndication #'s?

Thank you again for your time and kindness. You are the best!!!

  6. Syndicated feeds are just your RSS feeds, and I'd recommend setting it at 5. Ten means that the first time someone signs up, he'll get ten of your articles, and that's too many. After that, he only gets the articles as you publish them, one at a time.

Hi Raincoaster, You are the best. Thank you my friend. I have changed the feeds to 5 as you suggested. I have a follow up question. When you said, "after that he only gets the articles as you publish them -- one at a time" how does he receive my articles -- through Feedburner or through a feed reader?

Also Raincoaster, I have changed my blog pages show at most to 1 because I was getting feed back from some of my readers that they were being overwhelmed with the many articles that were listed on my home page.

This change, along with the other changes that I have made to Second Chance to Live has streamlined my web log. Please give the changes that I have made today a look and let me know what you think my friend. Thank you.

Have a pleasant and rewarding evening and God bless both you and your family Raincoaster.

    Craig
