Another Blogger importer problem

  1. Hi,

I've got a large, three-and-a-half year old blog on Blogger and I'm thinking about switching over to WordPress due to Blogger's coming retirement of BlogspotPlus (it means no more FTP access - no more non-blog pages or content). Anyway, I'm having trouble with the WP Blogger importer. After it changes the settings and the template, it tries to publish my blog. After it gets to 100%, it says "Moving on..." and then this comes up: "malformed
    WordPress

Your Blogger blog did not take the new template or did not respond." I suspect it may have something do with the fact that my blog has a separate page for listing its archives (an older Blogger feature) as well as it's BlogspotPlus status. Does anyone know of a way to get it to work? I can't make the move if I can't bring my archives with me. It could just be because there's so much to import. I don't know. Any ideas?

I have looked at other threads and have tried various suggestions. I've also used "Feedback." No luck. Help! Thanks!

  2. Have you tried running it early morning United States time when the traffic is less?

  3. The idea of changing the template comes to mind but I doubt that would work as the importer would not be able to recognize that it's been changed and still would hit that step.

Like Nosy mentions, I would try early morning US time and see if that helps. It's either that or doing the 'move 10 posts a day manually' method.

  4. Yes, I have tried doing it early in the morning. No luck. I've also changed the template.

No way copy-past is viable. My blog has 1339 posts.

  5. OMG what a downer :(

  6. I had more posts than you and eventually gave up.
