another changing title colour request!

  1. help, I'm new to wordpress

    trying to change the title of my blog to EE4977

    The blog I need help with is anniesdorsetkitchen.com.

  2. Where is your blog? Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question so we can locate it and help you.

    To link you username to your blog > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

    Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

  3. The top bit is the non-hover color. The second bit is the hover color if you should wish to change it.

    #title a:link, #title a:visited {
    color: #EE4977;
    }

    #title a:hover {
    color: #000000;
    }
  4. thank you very much

    how do you change the tag line?

  5. The reddish color doesn't work so well there because of the smaller font size and narrower stroke on the letters, so you might have to think about something like #FFFFFF instead. I included the font-size declaration as well in case you want to play with that. If not, then simply don't use that declaration.

    #description {
    color: #999999;
    font-size: 1.3em;
    }
  6. thanks again

  7. You are welcome.

  8. @thesacredpath
    The Tagline is barely discernible.

  9. Yeah, looks like she has increased the font size and went with white and it works much better.

  10. Hello again

    how do I change the colour of About me text below tag line?

    to white and bigger

    also, any tips on formatting a section in the post - i'm planning to put a section at the end of every post e.g.

    Nutrition facts:
    For a 5 year old, 250ml portion of soup has:
    just under half recommended daily iron intake
    Almost three quarters recommended Vitamin A intake
    Nearly a quarter daily recommended folate intake
    Just over 10% recommended calcium intake
    1 quarter of magnesium intake
    1 third of copper intake

    but i'd like to put this in a box, different colour, maybe light yellow, to make it stand out

    thanks

  11. I'm not seeing any "about me" text below the tagline of "Seasonal recipes and nutrition".

    On the text you want to highlight, if you could put that into the bottom of the "hello world" post then I will do some styling on it in the CSS and tell you how to apply that styling to your text in each of your posts where you want it.

  12. Hi,

    About is a link just below my tag line in dark grey text, and links through to my About me page

    I've updated hello world post

    the text i'd like to highlight is:

    Nutrition facts:
    For a 5 year old, 250ml portion of soup has:
    just under half recommended daily iron intake
    Almost three quarters recommended Vitamin A intake
    Nearly a quarter daily recommended folate intake
    Just over 10% recommended calcium intake
    1 quarter of magnesium intake
    1 third of copper intake

  13. Ah, I couldn't even see a hint of it. This should take care of it, and you can adjust the font size as you desire. I just popped in 1.2em as a placeholder.

    #navigation .menu a {
    color: #FFFFFF;
    font-size: 1.2em;
    }

    I'll work something up on the text shortly for you.

  14. Ok, add this to your CSS.

    .highlight p {
    background-color: #FFFDD;
    border: 1px solid #EEDD88;
    padding: 0 10px 0 10px;
    }

    Then edit the hello world post and make that bit of text you added look like this in the HTML editor tab.

    <div class=".highlight">

    Nutrition facts:
    For a 5 year old, 250ml portion of soup has:
    Just under half recommended daily iron intake
    Almost three quarters recommended Vitamin A intake
    Nearly a quarter daily recommended folate intake
    Just over 10% recommended calcium intake
    1 quarter of magnesium intake
    1 third of copper intake

    </div>
  15. Hi, I've tried your suggestion - put code in CSS and Hello world post

    that doesn't seem to work

    when i click save in CSS it removes one of the 0 10px in...so we're left with

    .highlight p {
    background-color:#FFFDD;
    border:1px solid #EEDD88;
    padding:0 10px;
    }

  16. Actually that is fine in the CSS. That is the short version. The first 0 is top and bottom and the 10px is left and right.

    Since I don't have the Custom Design Upgrade anymore (not about to pay $30 per year to have it to volunteer in the forums) it is a little more difficult for me to check everything. This I've tried using the "preview" function and it works by taking out the "p". I also changed the padding declaration and the base color since the CSS editor turned it into white on me.

    `.highlight {
    background-color:#FFFCC;
    border:1px solid #EEDD88;
    padding: 10px;
    }

  17. thanks for your help!! i might come back to formatting content in a post later

    but I've now got my 1st post up...1 day late but never mind...

    pumpkin soup

    thanks again

  18. Pumpkin Soup! I love pumkin soup!

    I living in Hawaii and planted some pumpkin like squash two years ago and make soup out of them all the time. In fact, I have too many of them to keep up with and end up giving them away all the time. I have to cut them back and tear them up all the time since they get completely out of control over here with 60+ inches of rain and all the sunshine we get.

    On the div in your post, get rid of the leading " . " as that is not used when specifying a class in HTML. That will get your border to show for you around the nutritional information.

  19. BTW, I noticed that I had the leading " . " in my example above, so I messed you up on that.
